LIGHTNING NEEDS A GREAT HOME!
Lightning will be 9 years old this February. She came to us with her baby, who was born on November 28, 2004. This was the only puppy in the litter. Unfortunately, the puppy did not survive. Lightning is ready to retire...and who can blame her? She's been through so much, yet remains to be the sweetest, most loving little dog ever. She needs someone who can spend a lot of time with her. She loves to be close and will follow you wherever you go. She's very quiet and just loves to cuddle. She has had a dental and has been spayed. We are so excited to say that since August '03, we have had over 100 great adoptions and helped to place numerous other animals into homes! We have learned so much throughout this process, and we are eager to continue doing what we do. We have met so many wonderful, animal loving people, and so many wonderful, loving animals. A special thank you goes out to all of those who have been so generous with themselves and their resources. We have an angel that provides all of our dog and cat food, and to her, we say a special thank you! We also want to thank all of the other rescues who have supported us! Most of all, we thank all of the animal loving people who have adopted or who have contributed toward the care of a special baby who stole their hearts. We can't do what we do without you!!
We have several dogs that have been here quite awhile, so our goal for this year is to find the loving, forever homes that these little guys have so patiently been waiting for. Although everyone has been so great, so helpful, and so generous to us, we are, however, still in constant need of donations to keep us going. Following are some things that we would greatly appreciate: monetary donations to put toward veterinary care and spays and neuters, dog & puppy food, cat & kitten food, food & water dishes, cedar bedding, kitty litter, litter boxes, straw or hay, cleaning supplies & disinfectants, grooming supplies, toys, blankets, towels, sheets, rags, treats, plastic swimming pools, dog & cat beds, dog houses, leashes, collars, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, iodine, Benadryl, Robitussin, Kaopectate, Pedialyte, Q-tips, Cotton balls, gauze, tape, thermometers, etc. We appreciate any and everything that you can do. We do this all for the animals, and can assure that every donation goes straight to them! Who We Are
The Love for a Lifetime Foundation is a newly founded animal welfare organization. We are a home based shelter with all of the animals living and interacting with us directly. We are dedicated to keeping and maintaining a healthy, homelike environment for each and every animal that comes to us, as well as, finding each and every animal his or her forever, loving home. We follow a NO-KILL policy, and believe that "where there's a will, there's a way". We have the facilities to house several dogs, but unfortunately, we are only able to house 2-3 full-grown cats at a given time. We hope to raise the money to build a cattery, but at the time, all cats live inside with us, so it does limit the number that we can accept. Our #1 goal is to educate people about awareness and responsibility of pet ownership, with a special emphasis on spaying and neutering. We are highly involved in each adoption because we do believe that every animal deserves a permanent home in which he or she is best suited.
Adopting a friend
Adoption fees vary, but typically start at $100, depending on what we have put into each animal. We have an adoption application and contract that we require every potential adopter to read and fill out. Once the application is approved and the contract signed, your new best friend is ready to go!
Come Visit Us!
Because we do this out of our home, we do ask that you fill out the application first, give us a chance to approve it, and allow us the opportunity to call and set up a time to meet with you.
